Cotic was founded, and is still owned by, Cy Turner. Cy is a degree qualified Chartered Mechanical Engineer with 14 years experience across the railways industry as well as in bicycle design. It was his desire for a modern steel trail hard tail back in 2001 that led him to design the Soul and thus began the Cotic adventure!
Paul Dexter runs admin, books and orders, along with being a brilliant test rider. Paul has over 15 years experience in bicycle retail, and is also a qualified mountain bike guide and skills coach.
Graphic design is by Kelvin Owners of Spittingcat. Kelvin is an integral part of the product development team as well as being responsible for all of Cotic’s look and feel.
There are lots of other people who are part of the Cotic family and give of their time and expertise to keep us moving forward, not least of which are our sponsored athletes Kate Potter and Robbie Rickman; along with Ian Potter of AQR Holidays, who is one of our main test riders.
Cotic is also now an international brand, with our friends in the USA, Germany and South Africa all doing great things to spread the word of Cotic.
What is Cotic
Cotic is a small, dynamic, rider owned bike company based in the Peak District area of England. It’s our aim to provide the frame that is the best tool for the job, and back that up with superb customer service and a great warranty.
We make bikes we like to ride; it sounds simple and obvious, but it’s true. It all started out with the Soul, our now legendary long travel trail hard tail, and grew from there into a range of hard tail and full suspension mountain bikes, award winning commuter bikes and new for 2011, a cyclocross bike. There’s plenty more to come too, so keep in touch.
