History of Southcott Pty. Ltd.

Southcott Pty Limited was founded in Adelaide, South Australia in 1886 as a general engineering business by two brothers, James and Albert Southcott. Over a century later, the company remains entirely owned by the Southcott family and has expanded extensively around the original factory site, as well as operating Australia wide sales offices and service centres in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, Newcastle, Devonport, Emerald and Perth.

Involvement in hydraulics began in 1954 with the design and development of axial piston pumps and motors. The Company remains the only Australian manufacturer of these complex units. State of the art facilities are now provided for hydraulic equipment manufacture, including complex manifold circuits and a wide range of hose coupling swaging machines up to 500 tonne capacity.

Southcott Cycle Division ceased the production of bicycles in the mid nineties due to economic climax and turned their focus on marketing and selling state of the art international brands. Southcott Cycle division now operates from two main distribution warehouses, Adelaide and Melbourne, supplying bicycles and parts and accessories to the independent bicycle shops across Australia.

How can I get sponno’ed by Colony?
Basically just ride, have fun & do your own thing. If it’s meant to happen we will notice you. Sending in ‘sponsor me’ emails or demo videos is one sure way to make sure you don’t get on the team. Just ride for fun & who knows what may happen.

My local shop doesn’t carry Colony. How can I get Colony parts?
If you live in a country that has a Colony distributor contact your shop & ask them to get in touch with the distributor to order your Colony parts in. If you live in a country without a Colony distributor contact us here at Colony at info@colonybmx.com.au with info of the best BMX distributor in your country & we will see if they want to carry Colony.

Can I buy parts directly from you?
No, sorry. We don’t sell direct to the public. Check with your local BMX shop in your country or see above.

MADD was formed back in 2002 by Mike Horne who had the vision to create an Aussie brand for Aussie kids. With Australia being known for iconic outdoor sports we are once again at the forefront with our can-do attitude which we have taken to the world.
Due to a growing international fan base and fast increasing demand for MGP (Madd Gear Pro) products 2010 proved a busy year with MGP exploding into the USA, UK and European markets with sales offices and Pro Teams established to keep a finger on the pulse of international trends.
 
Having Pro Teams around the world also aids in our development and testing, allowing us to build the best products to meet the high standards of today’s riders. All MADD products are tested to the highest standards by independent laboratories in compliance with the required local and retail legislature. Our in-house Quality Assurance department is at the forefront of trends and testing requirements which ensures our products are second to none.
 
Head Office is located in Australia where it all started back in 2002.  It is here where major product and event activity is  generated before flowing through on a daily basis to the International  MADD crew.
 
MADD and Team MGP are actively involved in our local and global community giving back time, skills and product to help develop the industry and its riders. We regularly take the Team on tour to ensure our regional fans get a piece of the action their city counterparts often see!

Sola Sport (formally Netti Atom) is one of Australia’s most prominent distributors of bicycle and outdoor brands and a major importer of several of the worlds leading brands of bicycle components and accessories. Sola has recently acquired the exclusive distribution rights of world renowned Bianchi bicycles.

SOLA Sport recently formed a subsidiary in New Zealand, SOLA Sport NZ, which distributes Bianchi and Dahon bikes, Netti clothing and accessory bike products, Serfas and Time.

For twenty four years Hillbrick Bicycles have been advising, designing and building bikes for the elite through to the recreational cyclist. With our love of cycling we've worked with and built frames for riders that have reached the pinnacle of world cycling. This year’s range of products utilise the latest in materials and design technology, raising the standard and level of cycling enjoyment.

In 2011 to accompany our hand built custom bikes, we have added a new carbon track & road frame. Historically and today we continue to be the leading industry supplier for track. Proudly, Hillbrick Bicycles were the first to introduce affordable competitive components encouraging cyclists back to the track.

Following on from our successes we have now included a range of products for single speed (Retro) followers.
