Product safety in Australia
Consumers have a right to expect that products they buy work properly without intolerable risk of illness or injury.
Businesses must use quality control measures to ensure that products they supply meet acceptable levels of safety and will not cause harm when used as resonably forseeable, including reasonably forseeable misuse.
Suppliers also have to ensure products meet requirements of relevant mandatory standards and bans.
Consumer product safety regulators monitor the safety of existing and new products on the market. When we find evidence that a consumer product has or could cause serious illness, injury or death we conduct investigations. Depending on the outcome of the investigations, we may issue a mandatory standard or ban designed to reduce risks for consumers.
Most consumer products are safe when used appropriately. That is why relatively few of the many products on the market in Australia are covered by safety regulations.

Tour de Cure
How it all started
In May 2007, what started as a coffee between three mates led to Tour de Cure’s registration as an Australian charity and the inaugural cycling tour.
Over six years Tour de Cure has cycled from;
- Brisbane to Mission Beach
- Brisbane to Sydney
- Melbourne to Sydney
- Brisbane to Cairns
- Sydney to Sunshine Coast
- Sydney to Melbourne
In May 2012, we completed our Signature Tour 2012 which saw the Team ride from Brisbane to Mission Beach. This was the biggest Team yet and we are proud to annouce that we hit our $2 million fundraising goal for 2012. Earlier in 2012, we held our inaugural 'Cancer Awareness for Country Kids' Tour in Victoria that aimed to not only raise funds to find a cure for cancer but improve the shocking Cancer statistics in regional Australia.
We are also holding 3 more Country Tours in QLD (October 2012), NSW (November 2012) and VIC (March 2013). To find out more about these Tours, go to our Future Tours page.
As always, our fundraising is a collaborative effort and we look forward to growing the team, involving more Corporate and engaging with more communities across 2012/2013 in order to raise over $2.3 million in the fight against cancer.

- the North American Epic which was first held in 2011 from San Francisco California to St John's Newfoundland
While local politics, unrest, and economic climate have occasionally caused us to adjust these routes, we believe our tours continue to offer participants unparalleled personal challenges on two wheels and the experiences of a lifetime.
In 2009 we initiated another imaginative concept called DreamTours, in which cyclists design their own DreamTour and post it on our website. If a DreamTour garners enough interest and is deemed to be do-able by our staff, it becomes reality. The first DreamTours were the 2010 Amber Route, and the 2011 Indian Adventure.

Cycling Australia Road National Championships: Weds 9 - Sun 13 January 2013
Setting it apart from any other cycling events, the Cycling Australia Road National Championships is where Australia's finest battle it out to be crowned the National Champion and vie for the green and gold stripes to be proudly worn on their jersey throughout the year.
The Nationals comprise of the Criterium, Time Trial and Road Championships culminating with the Men's Elite Road Race on Sunday which is Australia's greatest one day race.

Cycling Victoria
Cycling Victoria, CV, is the peak governing body for both organised competitive, and recreational, cycling within Victoria, Australia.
CV is an affiliate of Cycling Australia (CA) and the UCI (International Cycling Union) and currently has 55 affiliated clubs and over 6000 members throughout Victoria.
COMPETITIVE: Coordinates the competitive disciplines of road and track cycling at a club and state level and also manages the selection of Victorian Road and Track cycling teams for representation at National Championships.
